Cricket is an outdoor game or a physical game. There is a cricketer requiring some physical energy or power to play a cricket game. In cricket, some are cricketers who started their career late, but there’s no perfect age or wrong age to make a career in cricket, people could start as late as 22 years but still, get into professional cricket & need to work hard. Following are the list of cricketers who started their career late in the cricket.
Rangana Herath
Rangana Herath is a Srilankan player, he plays at the international level. Rangana Herath is a spin bowler, he bowls with his left hand. He started his career late. Rangana Herath didn’t get a chance to play for Srilanka later he made his debut after the retirement of Muralitharan (earlier Muralitharan was popular as a spinner in the Srilankan team). Rangana Herath accepted every difficult challenge to become a lead spinner for Srilanka Team. Now Rangana Herath is on top of the list for the spin bowling department. Rangana Herath’s full name is Herath Mudiyanselage Rangana Keerthi Bandana Herath. He is the leading wicket-taker as a spinner for Srilanka. He is a key player for his team, although he started his career late. In test cricket, he has 20 five wicket hauls as a spinner.
Sanjay Bangar
Sanjay Bangar is an Indian cricket player. In 2001 he made his international debut in a test match against England. At the age of 29, he started his cricketing career. His performance at the international level was brilliant as he marked his own personality in the Indian Team. He played for India at the international level for a short period of time. Sanjay Bangar had played 27 matches for India, in which he played 12 matches in tests and 15 matches in ODIs. In 2002, he played unforgotten innings in a test match against England. He made a 2nd wicket partnership with Rahul Dravid as he scored 68 runs in 236 balls.
Every Indian batsman was suffering to face one of the best swing attacks of England at that time. Indian team scored 628 runs under overcast conditions. Team India won the match by 46 runs. Sanjay Bangar gives his best to win the match. Later, he retired from cricket and started up with a coaching job. In 2014, he was batting coach of Kings 11 Punjab. Sanjay Bangar is a current batting coach of the Indian Team.
MISBAH-UL-HAQ
Misbah-ul-haq is a Pakistan cricket player. He struggles a lot to play for his country. Misbah-ul-haq started his cricket career at the age of 26. He made his debut at the international level in 2001. But he fails to perform for his country, as it results, he dropped out from the team. After 7 years he got a second chance to play for Pakistan Team. At the Domestic level and in the other Pakistan league, he performed brilliantly. Pakistan selectors have given him a second chance to show his cricketing skills. In 2007, ICC World t-20 he was the leading run-scorer for Pakistan Team.
In ICC World T-20 he played many remarkable innings for his team. Due to his brilliant performance, Pakistan was in the final of ICC World T-20. Pakistan was losses final match of ICC World T-20. In 2008 he was appointed as vice-captain of the Pakistan Team. His performance was poor in ICC World T-20 2010. Again he was dropped out from the Team. Later he recovered from his all weak points and made come back to Team as a captain. Under his captaincy, Pakistan won many matches. Mishab-Ul-Haq is one of the most popular cricket players in Pakistan.
Kedar Jadhav
Kedar Jadhav is a batsman & he plays for the Indian team. He is situated from Maharashtra popularly known as “Marathi Boy”. His batting style is different from others. In 2014, he made his international debut at the age of 29. He played his first match against Srilanka in Ranchi. He is short in height, but hitting power is very aggressive. He plays the role of an attacking batsman in the Indian Team. In IPL, he had been played for Kochi Tuskers Kerala and Royal Challengers Bangalore. In IPL 2018. he is playing for DD Team. He had played only 4 ODIs and 2 T20 at the international level. Kedar Jadhav came on the list of late bloomers in cricket.
Matthew Hayden
Matthew Hayden is an Australian cricket player. His cricket story becomes one of the inspires for many young cricketers. He faced many up down in his cricket career. In 1994, he made his debut in test cricket. He was suffering from bad times in his career. He has the ability to score big runs for his team, but unfortunately, he failed to show up his talent. In 2001, he scored 500 plus runs in only 3 test matches against India. He never looked back in his career. Become one of the best cricketers on the Australian Team. Saeed Ajmal is one of the best spinners in the world. He plays for Pakistan Team at the international level. In 2008, he made his international debut. At the age of 30 years, he played his first international match for Pakistan. He established his personality in the cricket world in a short period of time. His bowling style was unique and difficult to play. He started shinning and become one of the best spinners in the world. Every batsman faces difficulty to play against his bowling style. He plays the role of an off-spinner on the Pakistan Team. In Pakistan Team, Saeed Ajmal is one of the best cricketers.
