Cricket bats are made from two types of willow –
- English willow
- Kashmir Willow
Different sizes of cricket bat are available in the market. Every cricket bat can’t be more than 38 inches and width can’t be more than 4.25 inches. There are different types of cricket bats which are made for various style of play cricket.
Different Types of Cricket Bats –
1. English Willow Bat
English willow is an only willow which is preferred by most of the cricketers in international cricket. It’s been manufactured on a large scale because every professional cricketer wants to play with the English willow bat.
Why the English willow bat is popular because it an only willow which gives compression and strength to the cricket bat. English willow basically found in England, it also is known as a white willow.
In English willow, bat grains density amount is higher which means that the quality of bat is premium. We get five grades (1-5) it means the quality of bat. A high number of grades means the quality of the bat is high. But English willow bat is very expensive as compared to Kashmir willow bat.
Use of English Willow Cricket Bat –
- We can use the English Willow cricket bat to play with a leather ball.
- In leather ball, you can play with any types of ball, like Pink ball, Red Ball, White Ball.
2. Kashmir Willow Bat
Kashmir willow is mostly demanded wood in India, which is used for the production of cricket bats. Kashmir willow is not available all over India it’s only available in Kashmir. Kashmir willow bat is different from English willow bats in looks and also in quality as well as.
Kashmir willow bats are brownish in color due to this we can easily find the difference between Kashmir and English willow. Kashmir willow bat is come up with handmade so this is the main reason behind the price of the bat a bit expensive. Kashmir willow bat is very light in weight. In the market, demand for Kashmir willow bat is increasing day by day because every beginner prefers to play with Kashmir willow bat.
Use of Kashmir Willow Cricket Bat –

4. Training Cricket Bat
A training cricket bat is mostly used as a piece of cricket equipment to improve your cricket skills. The training bat can be a manufacturer or made with English willow or Kashmir willow because these bats are not made from one particular willow. This cricket bat is used in professional cricket in the field of cricket.
Different sizes and width are available in these cricket bats. Mostly training cricket bat width is half than other cricket bats. These kinds of cricket bat are very useful for a coach because it acts as a weapon for them in the training session.

- The training cricket bat is mostly used to improve your hand and eye co-ordination.
